Project Description

The project started from the idea of running activities that help refugees to integrate into the society. In most cases - refugees are unaware of existing solutions and they are exposed to new challenges without any preparation for facing the unknown. This includes not only services such as Unemployment institute, Social Security, Finances or border security services, but also information about language classes, access to leisure activities (eg. sport, volunteering) or the location of a mosque (or other religious centers), a cultural association or simply a group of people who speak the same language or are in the same situation. Ignorance of these solutions often leads refugees or asylum seekers to feel isolated and without knowing what to do and where to go.

Aim:

The project aims to create a bridge that helps people have easy access to up-to-date and reliable information that can really help them in their daily needs.

The project objectives are:

facilitated access (ideally in their mother tongue) of information (online and offline), up-to-date and reliable contacts of the services and advantages available to refugees in Portugal in the following areas: education, health, housing, employment, leisure and others; - Creation of a national database of service contact persons and entities providing solutions to refugees as well as informal groups working and developing diverse activities in order to integrate this target group. - Creation of an online chat aimed essentially at people looking for information about Portugal before arrival; - training of multiplier agents on how to use our website and brochure so that they can provide support in various cities both in Portugal and in partner countries.
